Prayer and Supplication
Cards and Condolences
James 5: 13-16
13 Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms.
14 Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
The Prayer and Supplications Ministry along with Cards and Condolences of the Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church is under the direction of the Chairperson, Sis Jean Mckenzie, and under the direct leadership of Pastor James E. Lawson Jr. As the charge is given in Luke 18: 1b that men ought to always pray, and not to faint; Also in 1 Thessalonians 5: 17 to “Pray without ceasing”. Many times, not only we ourselves need prayer, but also, our families, love ones, friends and even strangers need prayer as well However, there are times that we do not know what to pray for. “Be not dismayed, what err betide you”;
Romans 8: 26-28 states;
26) Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27) And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.
